North Dakota – Legislation Effective August 1

The governor signed Senate Bill 2002 on 4/18/2019 to make appropriations for the secretary of state. The bill increases fees charged by the secretary of state for preparing or compiling a listing of information from the central index from $20 to $40 and increases filing fees from $10 to $20. The new law takes effect 8/1/2019.

Senate Bill 2093 signed by the governor March 14 and effective August 1 amends certain license fees, capital requirements and annual report filing deadlines for financial institutions and other businesses regulated by the Commissioner of Financial Institutions.

Senate Bill 2326 signed by the governor March 21 and effective August 1 modifies the Century Code regarding filing of business entity annual reports and provides that a business entity required to register with the Secretary of State  may not seek to obtain an occupational or professional certificate, permit, or license until the registration is filed with the secretary of state.
