House Bill 1600 (Act No. 135) signed by the governor November 3 and effective January 3 enacted Start Ups for Soldiers providing for a voluntary preference for veterans in private employment and an exemption from business fees payable to the commonwealth or a political subdivision for a veteran or reservist starting or opening a business in the commonwealth.
