UPDATE: Please be advised that the Go-Live Launch Date for has been pushed 1 week to April 7, 2022. Due to the change below, Secretary of State of California online and internal systems will be down beginning April 1 until April 6. This outage will impact all services – Corporate and UCC until systems are live on April 7.
The California Secretary of State is making enhancements to their online Business Entities portal.
California is updating their Business Entities portal effective March 29, 2022. Below is information about how this may impact your business.
| What’s happening? | The California Secretary of State Business Entities portal is being updated. |
| How will this impact me? | Online outages will start on March 12 with only paper filings being accepted by the state until the update is complete. Please be aware, paper filings have longer turnaround times. Starting March 23 and through March 28, significant delays are anticipated with the California Secretary of State as they prepare for enhancements. During this time, you’ll be able to secure file dates, but no filings will be processed. Items will start being worked at the completion of maintenance. |
| What is changing? | Certain filings will require a secure PIN to complete. |
| Who will receive the PIN? | California will email a copy of the PIN to the last person to file for each entity and send a hard copy to the business entity’s mailing address on file with the state. |
| When will this be completed? | March 29, 2022. |
