California – Local Government Omnibus Act of 2015 Effective January 1

Senate Bill 184 (Chapter 269) signed by the governor September 4 and effective January 1, 2016 enacted the Local Government Omnibus Act of 2015 which among other provisions allows county recorders to: make marginal notations as part of the recording process; combine the general grantor-grantee index in computerized or electronic format; delete the outdated requirement to include a requestor’s name in the endorsement upon the document; immediately return a recorded document to the party who submitted the document; and list the tax statement declaration at the top of a page.
