House Bill 1158 (Chapter 160) signed by the governor April 28 and effective October 1, 2018 modifies charitable registration requirements including: statements or renewals, financial reports and solicitation notices must be signed and affirmed under penalty of perjury; name and tax status changes must be reported within 30 days; the time limit to request a hearing on denial, suspension or revocation is increased from 5 to 30 days; an address of record replaces registered agent for service of process and notices; and failure to file a financial report is subject to a fine.
