Federal – IRS Gives Tax Relief to Hurricane Victims

The Internal Revenue Service posted a news release that Hurricane Irma victims in 19 Florida counties and elsewhere (St. John and St. Thomas in U.S. Virgin Islands and certain municipalities in Puerto Rico) have until January 31, 2018 to file business tax returns and make certain tax payments.  This relief parallels granted in August to victims of Hurricane Harvey.  This includes an additional filing extension for businesses with extensions that run out on September 15.
