House Bill 1181 (Chapter 2016-101) signed by the governor March 24 amends the Patent Troll Prevention Act to revise when a party pursuing a private right of action may recover punitive damages and to revise the criteria by which a demand letter is deemed to be a bad faith assertion of patent infringement.
