Sarah McNamara joined our Dublin office as Commercial Director in July and arrived at a strange time, with virtual onboarding, a socially distant office and face-to-face meetings a rare occurrence. She tells us more about herself and what’s in store over the coming months.

Tell us about yourself and how you feel about joining Intertrust Group in Ireland?

I have been fortunate to work in the funds and corporate services markets for the past 15 years. I spent six years in New York, where I had the opportunity to meet and work with some wonderful people at investment firms and Fortune 500 companies across the USA. Returning to Ireland has been exciting as it’s a very different place to when I left in 2013; the economy is in a much better place and there has been tremendous growth in the financial services market. I’m delighted to have joined Intertrust Group for many reasons including the local team’s excellent reputation in the market, the fantastic client base and the substantial growth of the Irish business over the last 10 years. I’ve worked with various members of the team in different capacities in the past and I was excited to join them here in Intertrust. Imelda Shine and Anne Flood (Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets respectively) were big influencing factors in my decision to join the company – I knew I wanted to be part of the team they lead in Ireland.

What can you tell us about Intertrust Group’s offering to clients?

We have a powerful proposition, offering alternative asset managers full end-to-end fund and corporate support services to their international investment structures. In Ireland the third-party AIFM is going from strength to strength with the addition of fund administration, loan administration and SPV services.

Intertrust in Ireland is also well-positioned in the market to support existing and new managers with the anticipated changes to the Investment Limited Partnership legislation. Our team has the expertise, working with a variety of asset classes to support PE managers structuring their investments through Ireland.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Just that I’m excited to work with the Irish team and colleagues across the world – Intertrust’s global footprint is growing all the time. Actually, although joining during the Covid-19 pandemic has presented it’s challenges, I’ve found it’s meant I’ve been able to communicate and connect more easily with clients and colleagues around the world.
