United Kingdom – Update on Companies House New Powers
Companies House posted information describing its new powers to challenge and change company names under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act effective March 2024. An application to register a company name can be rejected if the filing office has reason to believe the name is intended to facilitate fraud, the name is comprised of or contains a computer code, or the name is likely to give a false impression the company is connected to a foreign government or an international organization whose members include countries or their governments.
