Colorado – Emergency Regulation from the Division of Insurance Concerning Appointment of Registered Agent
The Division of Insurance provided notice that the Commissioner adopted (1) emergency regulation 22-E-14 effective August 9 concerning appointment by insurance companies of a registered agent to receive service of process and service of auto liability disclosure requests and (2) bulletin no. B-1.37 concerning the requirement for insurers to designated a registered agent in Colorado. Domestic insurance companies should file Form 12 – Uniform Consent to Service of Process by sending to the Division email box. Each foreign insurance company should file Form 12 with the NAIC UCAA corporate amendment system. The Division of Insurance implemented a transition period from August 9 to December 1 when all companies will be required to have made the changes. Insurance companies also should change their registered agent with the Colorado Secretary of State.
