Texas – Texas Business Court Now Available for Lien/Litigation Searches

House Bill 19 signed by the governor June 12 and effective September 1, 2023 revamps state court systems to resolve business disputes to create the new Business Court and Court of Appeals for actions commenced on or after September 1, 2024.  CSC is now able to offer local judgment and suit searches at the Texas Business Court. Washington – State Courts Down Due to Security Breach

Washington court systems have been affected by security breach. All district level and superior courts excluding King and Pierce counties, which have separate systems, are unavailable. The Office of the Administration of the Courts website is also down. The outage is expected to last at least one week. Auditor searches are not impacted by this outage.

Washington D.C. – “Clean Hands” Debt Limit Increased

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) in its fall 2024 newsletter described an increase effective October 1 in the “clean hands” debt limit from $100.00 to $1,000.00 and coming changes to business license requirements including a reduction in license types and fees ($99.00 for 2 years or $49.00 for 6 months).
