Maine – HB 167, effective May 29, relates to false liens filed on the property of a public official

The governor signed HB 167 (LD 206) on May 29.  This bill provides civil and criminal remedies for the filing of false liens or encumbrances on the real or personal property of a public official.  The new law took effect immediately.
