New Jersey – Legislation Enacts the International Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation Act

Senate Bill 602 (Chapter 2017-1) signed by the governor February 6 and effective May 6 enacted the International Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation Act for the facilitation and recognition of international alternative dispute resolution in New Jersey. The bill allows certain types of non-profit entities to organize centers, whose principal purpose is to facilitate the resolution of international business, trade, commercial, and other disputes between persons by means of arbitration, mediation, conciliation, and other means as an alternative to the resort to litigation.
