Assembly Bill 622 (Chapter 696) signed by the governor October 9 and effective January 1, 2016 limits the misuse of E-Verify by prohibiting employers from engaging in unjust E-Verify practices against workers and creates financial civil penalties for employers who maliciously use E-Verify against their workforce.
